Murat Talu, has born in 1980, graduated from TED Ankara College in 1997, received his BSc degree on Economics from Bilkent University and MSc on Information Systems Management from Carnegie Mellon University.  After graduation he worked as a MT at Leviton Manufacturing Co. in NYC / New York. In 2005, he founded Intengo. Intengo has been backed by business angels and TUBITAK. Under Murat’s leadership, revenues has grown more than 200% annually each year and currently is the leading independent e-sourcing and e-auction services provider in Turkey.

Murat will talk about his entrepreneurship experience as well as his future plans.

Asian Markets and Social Media by Thomas Crampton


This week our guest speaker is Thomas Crampton, Asia-Pacific Director, 360 Digital Influence Ogilvy from Hong Kong, China.  Prior to joining Ogilvy,  Thomas spent 18 years as a globetrotting newspaper correspondent, mainly for the International Herald Tribune and The New York Times, reporting from five continents and dozens of counties.

Passionately involved in digital for the last six years, he writes a widely read blog, thomascrampton.com, and is a frequent keynote speaker and moderator at high profile conferences around the world, from the World Economic Forum in Davos to Le Web in Paris.

In addition to publisher’s awards from The New York Times and citations from Amnesty International for his articles and photography, Thomas has served as a judge for numerous journalism awards and worked to promote freedom of expression and the training of journalists.

Thomas Crampton was educated in the United States at the University of Virginia, in Ireland at Trinity College, Dublin and in France at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris. He speaks English, French, Thai and is learning Mandarin Chinese.

We are happy to have Thomas Crampton in Istanbul in our class. Thomas will talk about social media and Asian markets.

ERSIN PAMUKSUZER Managing Director, The LifeCo, Turkey Ersin Pamuksüzer is successful businessman with over 20 year of experience in executive positions in technology and telecommunications area (CEO of Ericsson Turkey, executive commitee member and member of BOD, Turkcell among others). Right now, he is the managing director of The LifeCo, a company dedicated to improving the quality of life of people living in urban environments. He is also board member of Smile holding.

Leading security company PRONET’s CEO Alp Saul is the guest speaker

In 2002 he found   Next Generation Media  A.S. which is active in the newly developing  digital signage field.  The company  makes content and advertisement broadcasting over digital screens in places that are open  to the public, such as Shopping Centers, airports, Metro stations,etc.

In 2006, Pronet group decided to get into the Security Guarding field and established Pronet Security Consulting and Services A.S. to be active in the Security Guarding field.

Currentl y, Alp Saul carries out the duty of CEO and Head of Board of Directors of these 3 companies . He is also the Chairman of GESIDER (Security Industry Industrialists and Businessman Association), a board member of TOBB Genç Girişimciler Kurulu and a member of Endeavour  Consulting Comitee. 

He was chosen to be among the 5 finalists in “Enterpreneur of the Year” contest which was organised by newspaper Milliyet and Ernst&Young in year 2007. Alp Saul is married and a father of two children.

 Alp Saul, born in year 1971, has graduated from  Robert College in 1990 ,and received his B.S. Degree   from the University of Virginia, U.S.A, Department of   Mechanical Engineering in 1994.    After completing university,   together with his two friends he found Pronet Security System  ltd. which designs , installs and services electronic security systems  for the residential and commercial applications.

Farzad Ehsani, President and CEO, Fluential Inc from Silicon Valley is our guest speaker

Farzad has an 20-year record of management, software development, and research at companies such as Motorola, NEC, and Digital Equipment Corporation. Prior to Fluential, he was the business and engineering head of Entropic’s Application Group, which was sold to Microsoft for over $90M.

Farzad is CEO of Fluential Inc., a technology company based in Silicon Valley which builds products to enable communication between people who do not speak the same language. Fluential’s speech translation solution offers innovative applications for the mobile, healthcare, and military industries.

As Fluential’s (www.fluentialinc.com) CEO, Farzad is responsible for defining and articulating the product vision, driving the market opportunity, and managing the day-to-day operations of the company. Holding several patents and having authored numerous papers on the technological advancements in speech technologies, Farzad holds an M.S. degree in electrical engineering and a B.S. degree in computer science, both from MIT. He is fluent in three languages, with a working knowledge of four other languages.

Farzad will talk on advantages and disadvantages of being an engineer in entrepreneurial world.

Innovative Thinking: Futurist Peter Cochrane is our guest speaker

Peter Cochrane is a futurist, business mentor, advisor, consultant, and angel to a wide range of government departments and international companies in the UK and USA. Throughout his career, Peter has worked across a broad spectrum including: circuit, system, and network design; software production and manufacture, machine programming, switching, and transmission; human interfaces; adaptive systems and control; AI and AL; company transformation and management system design. Peter was formerly CTO and head of research for British Telecom. He has held numerous academic posts, including the Collier Chair for the Public Understanding of Science & Technology @ Bristol, and visiting Professor to CNET, Southampton, Nottingham Trent, Robert Gordon’s, Kent and Essex Universities. He is currently a visiting professor at University College London. Peter has also received numerous prizes and awards, including the City & Guilds’ Prince Philip Medal, the IEEE Millennium Medal, an OBE, and the Queen’s Award for Innovation and The Martlesham Medal.

In our class today, Peter will talk about innovative thinking.

Our guest speaker is Ahmet Unver. Ahmet is one of the founding partners of Telcotank International that has offices in NY USA, London UK, Bakü Azerbaijan and İstanbul, Turkey. He has more than 15 years work experience in both corporate and enterpreneruship world. He has BSc and MSc both from computer engineering at ITU, Istanbul, Turkey.

Ahmet has served on management boards of more than fifteen telecom companies in the region in the past five years as a senior executive management consultant.

Ahmet will talk about differences between working as a professional in corporate world and enterpreneurial world.
